Every year I sit here, trawling through a year of wedding photography and it’s honestly the most amazing couple of weeks where I get to reminisce about your stunning ceremonies, delightful dancing, ballsy brides and goofy grooms (can you tell I ran out of alliteration options for groom?!)
I’ve been lucky enough to travel the country meeting some lovely new people, shooting at some bucket-list venues and stretching my creative muscles to give my couples some beautiful, fun and fresh photography from their awesome wedding days.
And they really were awesome!
I’ve tried to get these photos into a little bit of order, from bridal preparation through to the dancing to give you an idea of how I work on a wedding day – this has meant that I’ve been a helluva lot less decisive this year and as such, that cup of tea you’re pouring will need to be deep. Very deep! It’s a looooong one!
So settle in and get ready for a year of weddings at some of my favourite venues with some of my new favourite people!
Wedding Photography – The Best of 2019!
Bridal Preparation
From Walcot Hall to Pennard Hill Farm, from bridal suite terraces overgrown with climbing vines and steamy safari tents overlooking Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage, my first few minutes of a wedding day are always the most exciting, this might be because I’m never quite sure what I’m walking in to. Will there be nerves, laughter, tears?
It’s such an emotional time and the setting for the preparation, whether it be for grooms or brides, goes a long way to making this morning the best morning of your life!

You did the most amazing job and made me cry! The pictures are insane!
We’re on such a high, thank you so much! xxxx

Ceremonies
I’ve been inside, I’ve been outside, I’ve been rained on and I’ve been blinded by glorious sunshine!
Wherever they’ve been and whatever the weather, that moment, that first glimpse of the bride or groom, walking down the aisle, I think I get almost as excited as the person waiting for them at the other end!
2019 saw me shooting at some stunning venues, from Buckland House in Devon to Elmbridge Farm in Worcester, Avoncroft Museum in Bromsgrove and not forgetting Mythe Barn in Atherstone.

We are both so in love with what you’ve created!
Every single shot is beautiful and we can’t wait to share them with everyone!

I’m amazed, that was honestly the best thing i’ve seen, i’ve watched for about the 10th time every time noticing something different.
I am absolutely thrilled with the photographs.
You have captured every element of our day, everyone looks so happy, i cried … even Paul was choked!

I have the most creative, stylish couples who really go all out to stamp their personalities on their day.
I photographed some beautiful blooms and some gorgeous decorations in 2019, from wildflowers and the brightest bouquets to mason jars, elegant copper and glass table toppers, housebricks (see below!) and autumn fruits.
The time and effort that my lovely couples put into these little touches is always so impressive, I love turning up in the morning and seeing what’s in store for me 🙂

Couple Portraits
This is my favourite time of the day – I get to take the two of you off for a few photos.
This might be the only time during your whole wedding day when it’ll just be the two of you and because of that, I try and keep it as relaxed and fun as possible for you, giving you that all important time together and still making some amazing portraits for you to hang on your wall.
Relaxed, fun, creative, intimate and unobtrusive? No mean feat but I love hearing time and again, that I’ve achieved just that and given these beautiful two-comes some memories to always look back on and be amazingly proud of and still got them back to the wedding with time to spare for drinks and dancing! I know where your priorities lie! 😉

We are SO obsessed with the photos! We have scrolled a million times :’)
Can’t WAIT to print them off and put them all over the flat. I’ve mentioned wedding wallpaper to Michael so they can all be seen but he doesn’t seem so keen for some reason!

Oh my gosh! What can we say! …..
Amazing is an understatement! We love them so much!
You really captured in the best way possible the best day of our lives and we can’t thank you enough!

Oh wow. We have been in tears.
What an incredible day and amazing photographs. Everyone is smiling and laughing. Everyone is natural.
Just what we wanted.
I know you probably hear it all the time but you really were such a joy to have with us on such a intimate day xxxx

Just when i thought everything was over and it’s gone in the blink of an eye, just a memory in our heads, you gave us this…. such a lovely, lovely thing. You documented the day perfectly.
I can not thank you enough.
Chuffed to bits.

Aw wow Lisa, so beautiful!
Love it, you’ve really captured the fun of the day!
Thank you so much! There’s just some beautiful beautiful shots in there that we will treasure for a lifetime!

Oh my goodness they are gorgeous – thank you for capturing the day so well!
We love them and can feel the love and laughter of the day jumping off the pages.

Bridal Parties
The people that make your day so special – the grooms men, the bridesmaids, the brides-men and the grooms-maids.
The ones you share a bacon butty with in the morning, sneak a quick shot with, open pressies with and reminisce with. The ones that help you get dressed and cry happy tears when you’re ready, the ones that hold the dress and fix your tie. The guys that make everyone laugh with a brilliant speech and make everyone cry by getting totes emosh with their toast.
The beauties that look on with love when you say your I Do’s and the dudes that carry chairs over your head to keep you dry in the rain (true story!)

Ah Lisa, they are amazing!
Thank you so much. You’ve really captured the day so well. We love them 😍🥂🕺💃

Kids at Weddings
I’m often asked what I think of kids being invited to weddings – as a photographer, I love it. As a parent and guest, I’m quite partial to a bit of parenting-free time! My daughter, on the other hand, loves a wedding invite!
If you have invited kids to your wedding, it’s always a good idea to include a few things to entertain them and as you can see from the following photos, they find things to entertain themselves too!
This year also saw a lot of grown up’s being big kids too. I’ve had bridal parties being animals and grooms being thrown in lakes. There’s been dodgem cars and sack races, kids being kicked off bouncy castles by big kids who should know better 😉 I’ve had donkeys stealing booze and I’ve been chased by a very determined kid with a mission to kill my cameras with a space hopper! I’ve had carousels, train rides, boozy buggy rides and trampolining! I shot the best bouquet tosses, both feisty and fun and even threw a mini horse in the photos, because, well, it was there so why not?!

Aww these are amazing, thank you so much!!
We love them 🙂 Lots of tears and laughter (space hopper photos are hilarious!)

We love them all, thankyou again for making our day so magical and for the amazing photos and memories you created for us.
We both can’t thank you enough.

We have just sat and watched our highlights slideshow and what can we say?!
Just wow! There were lots of happy tears and I think we’ve watched it five times in a row! We love how smiley everyone was!
We absolutely love our pictures!

Oh my goodness they are gorgeous – thank you for capturing the day so well! We love them and can feel the love and laughter of the day jumping off the pages.
Thanks so much again and for blending in so well.

First Dance and Evening Party
How lucky am I to have this amazing job?
I get to start my day documenting the nerves, the excitement and the anticipation of the brilliant day ahead of you and it culminates on the dance floor surrounded by your nearest and dearest with glasses in hand ready to join you on the dance floor for a blooming’ fantastic party and a right good knees up!
I watch this moment though, with a weird sense of pride. I didn’t know you very well a few hours ago, but I’ve just spent this amazing, intimate day with you and now, now I feel like a friend. I know your auntie Mabel’s dietary requirements and your best mate’s best side for selfie’s. I’ve talked about holidays with your cousins and given travel tips to your Mom, I’ve fixed your false eyelash and there’s a good chance I’ll feature in a few of your mate’s photo albums (more than often slightly against my will!)
I’m watching you twirl around the dance floor together in each others arms, knowing that you’ve had the best day and just loving each other with every fibre of your being and I’m feeling this warm glow knowing that I’ve been invited along to document it all for you. It’s a real honour and I want you to know how grateful I am. I don’t take it lightly, even though my day is spent smiling, joking and laughing with you both and with all of your guests, even though there’ll be a selfie of me taken with one of your bridesmaids, it’s a big deal. It’s a massive deal. I’m so bloody honoured to have been a part of this so to all of my amazing 2019 couples – thankyou! The very biggest thankyou of them all going out to you for sending me off after your wedding with this Ready Break glow and a big smile on my tired old face!
You’re all awesome and I’ve loved every second!
