Very slightly obsessed with the details in this wedding, not to mention Sally and Stuart themselves!
What an amazing wedding celebration to be involved with, I was over the moon to get that first email from Sally explaining their plans – they got married in Vegas back in March with none other than Elvis officiating, just the two of them celebrating together, singing in the ceremony with Stuart donning his blue suede shoes and Sally looking all kinds of awesome in her Couture Company tattoo dress!
They celebrated later in the year with family and friends at The Bond Company in Digbeth, one of my favourite venues, and decked the place out with veil and dickie-bow wearing flamingoes, Elvis and Priscilla dolls, pineapples and tropical cocktail decorations and even played their favourite movies (Groundhog Day and The Goonies, firm favourites for me too!) on a big screen while their guests ate dinner!
If all this weren’t quite enough, they definitely win the award for best first dance EVER with a swing sensation!
When the DJ sparked up a little song called, “My Big Ten Inch” I wasn’t quite sure what was coming (it could have been all manner of things!) but Sally and Stuart launched into an awe-inspiring swing routine that had the crowd up on their feet with their plates in the air afterwards.
Seriously, it was so good that I started swing dance lessons the week after!
Totally thrilled to share this wedding with you and I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed shooting them!
Unusually, we’ll start off with their portrait shoot – as Sally and Stuart had already tied the knot, it gave us the opportunity to take a walk around Digbeth a good hour before their guests arrived and take advantage of the brilliant graffiti backdrops in the area.
You’ll notice there’s no ceremony, this was all about the party! 😀
