2020 – A Stay At Home Summer of Lockdown Photos.
We’ve had Water fights, Obstacle Courses, Spelling Tests, Zoom Quizzes, Banana Bread Baking, Driveway Drinking, Doorstep Portraits, Daily Walks, Rainbow Painting, Homeschooling, Crafternoons, Car Washing, NHS Clapping, Mask Making, Sunbathing, Drive In Movie Watching, Finally Finding Time To Read, Leaving Year 6 With No Fanfare, Starting Secondary With a Crying Mother, Skateboarding, Poppy Field Hunting, Garden Yoga, Home made Barbecuing and Birthdays with Yoda Cakes!
We even managed a mini trip to Croyde, avoiding the rain and catching the best sunset in the dunes with a cider in our hands and friends by our side (and hey, I actually left the camera at home for that one and just enjoyed the holiday instead – still not sure how I feel about that though! 😉 )
We’ve done our best to Flatten the Curve and succeeded in Fattening The Curves! (Damn you Project D!)
It’s not been the year we planned but I made sure that my camera kept busy and being creative kept me happy too.
I didn’t do the things that I planned – they’re still on my to-do list – learn to play an instrument, catch up on blogging, finally get round to my SEO, get fit, come out of lockdown 2 stone lighter!
But the things that we did do, well, that was pretty amazing and to actually have that time together was super special. (Even if the obstacle course put Jason out of action for 6 months – lesson learned – leaping over fences can have a large impact on knee ligaments!)
So, here they are, my real Best of 2020 Collection, the personal photos that I’ll be able to look back on in years to come and remember that 2020 might have been a bit of a shit show but we took it in our stride, rolled with the punches and made a damn fine job of it!

So much time was spent in our gardens – trampolining every day and lying in the sunshine reading books.
Did you see my Doorstep Portrait blog? I had the best time getting out and about on my daily walks and photographing all of these families on their doorsteps and in some cases through their windows!

VE Day Celebrations 2020
2020 was the year of make do wasn’t it? We couldn’t have the celebrations we wanted but we made do with what we could have and VE Day was no different.
We live on a main road but the road that runs alongside us had some street celebrations so we popped round to enjoy the music, camped out for an hour on a pavement and enjoyed a little singsong with the neighbours!

Frankie’s last days at school were not the days she’d hoped for – no leavers party, no proper goodbyes and no assemblies but lying in muddy streams seemed to be a thing so we went for it!
So grateful for Sutton Park on our doorstep and a garden to enjoy 🙂

Lockdown Photos – A Stay At Home Summer and a Birthday Party
Little Frankie (don’t know how long I’ll get away with calling her that!) turned 11 and luckily, her birthday happened during one of the more relaxed periods which meant we were able to invite some of her friends round to the garden for a little birthday party.
Before that she went to Cliff Lakes Watersports Centre, where all of the girls insisted they didn’t need wet-suits and braved the freezing waters while practising their high pitched squeals!

We waited and waited and finally got a support bubble which meant Frankie got to hug Nanny and Grandad, it didn’t last long as Lockdown 2.0 was fast approaching but hugs while they lasted were pretty amazing!

It’s a year that will go down in history as pretty atrocious but finding the highs and dealing with the lows has taught us a lot about our little family and I’m so happy to have these memories, both good and bad (but mostly good), to look back on when we remember 2020.
