Last year I found myself shooting a Wrekin College Wedding in Telford – a new venue for me.
What a beautiful place for a wedding!
I met up with Grace for a cuppa a few months before the wedding (and fell a little bit in love with her – she’s pretty amazing!) and she told me how she envisioned her day – it was everything and more than she described.
The love in the room was palpable and as the sun shone outside giving us a perfect English country garden wedding day, Grace and Michael looked on as their friends and family gave the most impressive and heartfelt speeches. Grace’s Mom even sang to the couple which, as you can imagine, had the whole room in tears.
Their church wedding gave me goose pimples – with hands in the air and singing like an angel, I had to lower my camera for a second just to take it all in and feel the love.
I never normally do this for fear of missing a moment but it was the right thing to do. Grace and Michael are meant to be, so in love and so happy together. They fit together like two little jigsaw pieces and seeing this made my heart happy 🙂
The day started in a beautiful cottage with the boys getting ready.

Then I moved on to Grace at her parents house, complete with bridesmaids, Grandma and a couple of lovely pooches!

The church ceremony was absolutely beautiful. So personal to the couple and incredibly moving. The singing sent shivers down my spine and to see Grace and Michael letting go and belting out those hymns with their hands in the air was something else.

Couple Portraits
Grace had selected a few locations for couple portraits in between the ceremony and the reception. We were faced with a little pushback from some rather territorial swans but she’d chosen well! The scenery was beautiful and taking this time out away from the rest of the wedding and just being together in each others company straight after saying “I Do” is one of my favourite moments. And sometimes one of the only moments a couple actually get to spend alone during the wedding festivities!

Wrekin College Wedding
How beautiful is this place? Grace and Michael arrived to a tunnel of confetti on the front lawn and then moved over to the playing fields for fun and games while the hall was being set up for the wedding breakfast.
I was pretty wowed when I walked in to the hall, with it’s beautiful high ceilings and red curtained stage being the backdrop for the top table, Grace’s vision had come together perfectly!

Wedding Ceilidh
Grace and Michael are not drinkers so their wedding was dry – but in no sense of the word other than having no booze! This was one wedding where guests did not have to be half cut to get up and dance! Their wedding band was a ceilidh and as the sun was going down outside, they danced their first dance and sprung straight into action with a few reels around the hall! I, of course, like to get in the middle of the action so left with a few bruises but nothing a little bit of wedding cake wouldn’t fix and Grace made sure I left with plenty!
What an amazing day and what a beautiful couple!

Just before I hopped in the car and left these lovely people to carry on partying, we popped outside for a few final golden hour photos as the sun sunk to it’s lowest.
I’d had the most incredible day in the company of some truly wonderful people and I can’t wish them enough joy and happiness in their lives together 🙂
