Buckland House Wedding Venue

The bridal suite at this amazing venue was simply stunning and the perfect place for the girls to start their day.
They even had a balcony so they could spy on the guests arriving and check on the set up as the boys got the ceremony arch ready!

The Red Room
The beautiful high ceilings in the Red Room at Buckland House add to the extravagant party vibes and Tim and Emily had decorated so elegantly, with beautiful wild flowers in jam jars settled on rustic table centrepieces.

The weather was very hit and miss, with intermittent rain showers all morning. The sky was heavy and grey but Emily was still all set to get married outside on the back lawn, come rain or shine! I love a determined bride and I absolutely love an outdoor ceremony so I was raring to go!
The guests had their hoods and umbrellas at the ready and the scene was set!
And what a beautiful scene it was! Just look at that landscape!
And even more impressive – look at that bride!

Jenna, whose wedding I shot last year, couldn’t make the celebrations as she’d just had a beautiful baby girl, but she wasn’t going to miss out on being a bridesmaid so bridal party photos took place with a cardboard cut out and she even joined the guests on the dance floor later in the evening for a little boogie!
I love this idea, I’ve never had a cardboard bridesmaid before and it’s a great first to have!

Rainy Weddings
Maybe I just get lucky but it’s very rare for a wedding to be rainy all day long and as Emily and Tim proved, a rain shower in the morning makes for amazing afternoon light so we went for a little explore into the surrounding fields for some portrait photos once the showers stopped 🙂

I had to include these photos (with an apology to both the guest who sabotaged the kid and also to the kid for the possibility of these being used later in life!) but it’s worth remembering us photographers get ALL of the evidence at a wedding.
All. Of. It!

Now, this is impressive!
Emily’s Dad proved his handy man skills with this incredible DIY tiki bar that he knocked up especially for the wedding!
They set it up in one of the sitting rooms at Buckland and the catering staff used it as the main bar. I remain incredibly impressed with this, I always love when there’s an element of DIY at a wedding but this soars to new levels of awestruck!
A Buckland House Wedding with a tiki bar? Yes please!

Well, that was quite a long blog post so thanks for sticking with it but I just couldn’t narrow it down as I loved shooting it so much!
So, if you’re planning a Buckland House Wedding and fancy having a chat with me about your plans, I’d love to hear all about it (tiki bars, worms on the dance floor and cardboard bridesmaids are optional but very welcome!) Drop me a line on my contact page and tell me everything!
