How true is that?
And it’s never more clear than on a wedding day.
The glitz and the glamour are all very well but the one thing that stands out more than anything else is the joy of laughter.
From the two of you standing in a hayfield in the rain, trying to shelter under the flimsiest of veils, Nan learning to floss on the dance floor surrounded by her laughing grandkids, from the guests holding it together during the speeches, the best man nervously giggling like a school girl doing his best not to drop the rings and the bridesmaids struggling with false lashes for the first time on the morning of the wedding.
The stories you’ll tell, the memories you’ll keep.
The glitz and the glamour is a backdrop to this. This amazing adventure. This day when you’ll love, you’ll laugh and you’ll say Yes!
I got to shoot some of these amazing days in 2018 and it truly was a Year of Epic Weddings! At every single one of them, there were tears of joy and shrieks of laughter – the big wet eyes, holding your sides, crossing your legs laughter. The very best kind.
The kind that I love to photograph.
So I did.
