Well, it certainly doesn’t feel like almost one year ago since I shot my first wedding of 2016 but here we are again, at the end of another year, wondering where it all went – what the hell happened to summer, why is my hair getting greyer so much quicker, who’s the orange guy in charge of America? And does this Brexit lark mean I can now use all these pesetas I just found in my old ra-ra skirt?
It’s been a funny old year – I’ve had some of my favourite weddings ever, spent time with some truly lovely people, taken a few amazing holidays, won a couple of awards for my photography and laughed a whole heap. But I’ve also worked till I wept, shot every summer wedding with a dislocated rib (and kept smiling!) and lost some very special people who I miss dearly.
For 2017 – more happiness, more amazing weddings and less misplaced bones please! 😀
So here, without further ado, is my roundup of 2016 – some of my favourites, the ones that mean something to me and I know they mean something to the people in them. That’s how I’ve been trying to shoot more this year (and next) – more moments, more emotion, more connection and more honesty.
A massive thank you to all of my 2016 couples, you really have made it a fantastic, beautiful, memorable year 🙂
