It’s that time of year, when, amidst a pile of wrapping paper still covering the floor, with countless mince pie crumbs on our desks and a glass of sherry in hand, we photographers look back on the last year of weddings and compile a “Best Of” post for the blog.
We look at the things we loved, hope to change the things we didn’t, make plans for this coming year to be even bigger and better and talk ourselves up in the hope of getting better, cooler and more impressive weddings.
But actually, I’m happy with my lot right now. I’ll take more of the same please!
More of the belly laughs, the nervous smiles, nail biting and happy tears, give me plenty of pliers to get a bride into her dress and countless grooms who can’t do their button-holes without help. Give me rings that don’t fit and cakes that fall off the table when it gets too hot in the reception room. Give me brides and grooms that laugh throughout and know that the only thing that really matters is the love between the two of them, the families coming together to celebrate and the champagne flowing.
I already have the best, coolest and most impressive couples and if you’re one of them and you’re reading this, thank you, thank you, thank you. You made my year! 🙂
Give me this.
The same as 2015. Just a little more of it! 🙂
